Courtney Allison Moulton was born in Texas and grew up in Michigan, where she spent a lifetime studying ancient civilizations and writing about magic and monsters. Her debut novel ANGELFIRE, a bestselling Indie Next List Pick with high-octane action hailed as unimpeachable by Publishers Weekly, was published when she was just 24 years old.

I was born in Austin, Texas and grew up in Michigan. I am proud of my Mediterranean ethnicity (my father’s family is Southern French and my mother’s is Sicilian, North African, Greek, and Syrian-Lebanese). Fascinated by my family’s history, I read everything I could about Ancient Mediterranean civilizations. My childhood and teen years were well-spent at horse shows around the country and I grew up on a Northern Michigan lake. My voracious reading habits started with the Goosebumps series, Nancy Drew mysteries, and world history books. I found Tailchaser’s Song by Tad Williams in a grocery store when I was a kid and it launched my love for fantasy books. As a teen I discovered The Lord of the Rings and the urban fantasy genre. When I’m not writing or reading, you can find me logged into World of Warcraft running mythic+ keys or playing Final Fantasy XIV with friends.

In November 2008, when I was 22, my first attempt at NaNoWriMo resulted in my debut novel ANGELFIRE. A few weeks later, my agent sold that trilogy to Katherine Tegen Books, an imprint of HarperCollins. ANGELFIRE, an Indie Next List Pick, released in February of 2011 when I was 24 and earned critical praise. In a sea of Young Adult paranormal romance, ANGELFIRE was the first of its kind, with high-octane action hailed as unimpeachable by Publishers Weekly.
