The demonic typically reside in the dimension parallel to the mortal plane called the Grim. All reapers, the Preliator, and some psychics have the ability to move easily from the mortal world and into the Grim. While in the Grim, they are invisible to anyone in the mortal world, but it is not true the other way around. Those in the mortal world who are sensitive to the Grim may hear and/or sense reapers within the Grim, but will not be able to see the creatures unless they cross over.

The angelic reapers serve the archangels in Heaven and fight against the demonic reapers alongside the Preliator. Some of them choose to undertake difficult tasks, such as protecting divine relics, and are fully committed to his or her duty.

Types of Angelic Reapers

Vir
Angelic reapers, because they are not borne from the wicked or the damned, are not created in monstrous forms like the demonic reapers. The angelic Vir resemble the angels they are descended from and have shapeshifting abilities, such as growing wings and other aspects.

The function of the demonic reapers is to collect souls by killing and devouring human beings and taking control over the victim's soul. These harvested souls are then sent to Hell where they rebuild Lucifer's army of the damned with the intention of unleashing it upon Earth and Heaven, igniting the Second War and possibly the end of the world.

Types of Demonic Reapers

Vir
The most powerful of demonic reapers. Their bodies have the ability to shapeshift and appear human if they desire. They can grow wings, talons, horns, and other aspects that also be used as weapons.

Nycterid
An elusive and powerful species. They are the largest species of reaper and are very dinosaurid and hairless in appearance. They have long necks and skeletal ape-like faces with snouts filled with jagged teeth. Their forelimbs are gigantic membranous wings with claws on the thumb joints. The hind legs are powerful and clawed, and their tails are long, lightly-furred, and very adept at bashing and thrashing. They are blind and rely on their other senses in battle.

Ursid
The bear-like Ursids are aggressive and rely more on brute strength than speed. Their bodies are the size of pick-up trucks, their heads are blocky and bulky, and their saber-teeth and claws are strong enough to tear through metal.

Lupine
The wolf-like Lupines are speedy and as large as the average sedan. They have thick fur and gnarled teeth. They often take care of minor tasks for more powerful reapers.

Leonine
The Leonine reapers are rare and resemble maned, saber-toothed leopards. They move lightning fast and rely on razor-sharp teeth and claws in battle.
